Madurodam

Madurodam in The Hague is one of the Netherlands’ most iconic attractions – a miniature world where the highlights of Dutch culture, history and innovation come to life in 1:25 scale. It is a park full of stories, crafted in detail, that allow visitors to experience an entire country in just one day.

The park features over 300 detailed scale models of famous Dutch landmarks and cities. From the Rijksmuseum to Schiphol Airport, from the Delta Works to the windmills of Kinderdijk and the port of Rotterdam – everything is meticulously reproduced down to the smallest detail.

Madurodam is highly interactive. Visitors can open sluices, load ships, operate cranes, or take part in educational games. Children and adults alike can actively participate in fun challenges while learning about Dutch achievements in water management, architecture and trade.

Themed areas focus on important aspects of the Netherlands, such as urban planning, innovation, democracy and freedom. A special section of the park tells the story of George Maduro, a war hero and resistance fighter who gave his life during World War II, and after whom the park is named.

Madurodam is also a great destination for families. It includes several playgrounds, indoor attractions for rainy days, and places to relax. Cafés and restaurants offer refreshments and meals, and the souvenir shop features Dutch treats and gifts.

The park is located just outside the city center of The Hague and is easily accessible by car and public transport. It’s also close to the beach at Scheveningen, making it perfect for a full day trip.
