Veenloopcentrum Weiteveen

The Veenloop Centre Weiteveen is the perfect place to discover the unique nature and history of the peat area in Drenthe. Located in the village of Weiteveen, near the Bargerveen nature reserve, the centre offers a mix of nature, culture and education.

In the visitor centre you can learn all about life in the peatlands, peat cutting and the special flora and fauna of the area. There are interactive exhibits, old tools and photos showing life in the past.

From the Veenloop Centre, several walking routes start through the beautiful Bargerveen landscape. Walk along wooden paths, past ponds, heathlands and old peat fields. For children there is a gnome trail and treasure hunt.
