The Camp Westerbork Memorial Centre in Drenthe is a deeply moving site where the history of the Second World War becomes personal and real. From this location, more than 100,000 Jews, Roma and Sinti were deported to concentration and extermination camps.
Inside the museum, personal stories, photographs, video footage and objects help bring the past to life. Visitors learn about daily life in the camp, the function of the railway, and the machinery of persecution.
Outdoors, you can explore the remnants of the former camp: barrack foundations, a guard tower, the railway track, and the impressive national monument of 102,000 stones.
The memorial centre is a place for remembrance, education and reflection. A visit leaves a lasting impression and is meaningful for all generations.
