Stadhuis van Gouda

Gouda’s City Hall is one of the oldest Gothic town halls in the Netherlands and a true landmark located right on the central Market Square. With its tall turrets, step gables and decorative statues, it immediately draws attention.

Built in the mid-15th century, the City Hall reflects Gouda’s rich history as a flourishing trade city. The facade features a carillon with moving figures that play out a local story every hour.

Inside, the building is just as stunning. The wedding hall with stained-glass windows and timbered ceilings is a popular venue and open for tours on select days. The square comes alive during the cheese market season in spring and summer.
