De Pier van Scheveningen

The Pier of Scheveningen is one of the most iconic attractions on the Dutch coast. Since its renovation and reopening in 2015, the pier has become a lively destination filled with adventure, relaxation, and culinary experiences – all above the North Sea.  

Built on pillars extending into the sea, the pier offers a scenic walkway with views of the beach, the Scheveningen boulevard, and the skyline of The Hague. Its highlight is the giant Ferris wheel – the first in Europe built over the sea. From its enclosed cabins, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views.  

Thrill-seekers can go bungy jumping from the 55-meter tower or ride the zipline that flies over the sea. For those who prefer to unwind, the pier offers various bars and restaurants, serving everything from sushi and burgers to pancakes and cocktails.  

The pier also hosts regular events, art displays, and live music performances. Small shops offer local goods, fashion, and souvenirs. In summer, the pier becomes a vibrant spot for sunset views and beach parties, while winter brings cozy lights and warm drinks.  

The Pier is free to enter and within walking distance of the Kurhaus, beach, and public transport stops. It’s a unique place where adventure and atmosphere come together.
