Jopie Huisman Museum

The Jopie Huisman Museum in Workum is dedicated to Frisian artist Jopie Huisman (1922–2000), renowned for his realistic paintings of everyday objects and profound compassion for simple life. Located in the heart of Workum, the museum offers a unique insight into the life and work of this self-taught master.

Visitors are welcomed with an audio tour where Jopie himself, through original interview excerpts, shares his stories. His works, ranging from worn-out shoes to old dolls, narrate tales of transience, love, and the beauty of the insignificant.

For young visitors, there's a special children's audio tour and a sketchbook filled with drawing and scavenger hunt assignments, allowing children to interactively explore Jopie's world.

The museum is fully wheelchair accessible and features a museum shop and café. Situated at Noard 6, it's easily accessible and a must-see for art enthusiasts and the curious alike.
