Hotel Café Restaurant de Posthoorn is a cozy family hotel located in the historic village of Dokkum, one of the 11-cities.  Walk along the canals with its beautiful buildings or through cosy shopping streets with terraces and beer breweries (tip: Brouwerij Dockum!).

The old fortified town of Dokkum is surrounded by town ramparts. In the past you could only enter the fortified town through 4 gates; Hanspoort, Halvemaanspoort, Woudpoort and the Aalsumerpoort. At 09:50 pm the bells were ringing to announce that the gates were about to close within 10 minutes. To keep the tradition alive, the bells still ring in Dokkum at 09:50 pm. 

Hotel Café Restaurant de Posthoorn has 34 rooms, of which 17 rooms are located in the Pakhuis and 3 rooms in the Halve Maen, both at 25m from the main building. Some rooms are located on the ground floor. The rooms have a bathroom with toilet, bathtub and/or shower. In the cosy restaurant or in the beanery and in Summer on the terraces, you can enjoy a delicious meal.

Are you coming by car? Paid parking is available from 11:00 am until 06:00 pm (and on Fridays until 09:00 pm) (except on Sundays, then it is free). Free parking places are available at parking lot P centrum Oost de Harddraver at the Harddraverdijk (at approx. 300m from the hotel). The hotel has a spacious bikes shed with charging points for e-bikes.
